By , posted over 1 year ago

CROWN POINT – As March begins, the anticipation for spring grows. Travelers to Indiana’s South Shore can anticipate warmer weather, greener grass and more outdoor festivals, like  the 4th annual beer fest, Crown Beer Fest.

And this year, in addition to 120 different types of beer, the festival is introducing new elements like the Crownfest 5k!

The Crownfest 5k is a three mile run beginning at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 18, just two hours prior to the Crownfest activities.

The course will begin at the Lake County Fairgrounds and will include split times and water stations.

Awards will be given to the top overall finishers, top master and top three finishers in each age group for both men and women.

Registration prior to May 1 cost $20. Registration after May 1, and on race day, is $22. In addition to a discounted price, those that register by May 1 are also guaranteed s “Bike, Run, Beer” T-shirt.

Registration can be completed online, or by filling out an application and mailing it into the fairgrounds. Online registration closes on May 16.

Lake County Fairgrounds are located at 889 S. Court Street in Crown Point. For more information, email Paul Jellema at paulk@trekbikestore.com.
